Conflexion, LLC was founded in 2000 and has focused on consulting and software development involving manufacturing system design, analysis, and optimization as well as general scheduling and planning. Discrete event simulation is our primary analysis tool and we also provide beginning, advanced, and customized training in the use of the Simio simulation and Risk-based Planning and Scheduling (RPS) packages. Leadership
 Jeffrey S. Smith, Ph.D. Founding Director | Jeff Smith is the founding director at Conflexion, LLC. In addition, he is also a Technical Fellow at Simio LLC and the Joe W. Forehand Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Auburn University. In addition to his academic positions, Dr. Smith has held professional positions with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Philip Morris USA. Dr. Smith has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University. His primary development, research and teach interests are in manufacturing systems design and analysis, discrete event simulation, and web-based information systems design and development. |
